LOCATION:                    OAKVILLE/BURLINGTON, ONTARIO, CANADA

HOURS:                         FULL TIME (MONDAY – FRIDAY)


JOB OVERVIEW

As a Mechanical Technologist or Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and drafting mechanical and process equipment, as well as piping, to support project deliverables using the company's standard design tools. This role requires you to exercise judgment independently, evaluating, selecting, and significantly adapting and modifying standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Utilize company-standard design tools to create detailed designs and drawings of mechanical equipment and piping systems.
•    Assist in developing and improving new concepts related to equipment design and fabrication.
•    Maintain an understanding of industrial mechanical design and drafting standards and methodologies relevant to the company's market.
•    Conduct independent mechanical design reviews, including peer checking and group reviews.
•    Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to maintain high standards of excellence.
•    Embrace continuous learning with a proactive attitude towards extensive training. Show enthusiasm for acquiring knowledge and skills,

      even beyond your primary field of expertise.
•    Perform Quality Control (QC) tasks related to equipment fabrication, including visual inspections, dimensional checks, and Non-Destructive Engineering (NDE).
•    Foster positive relationships and manage expectations through clear and timely communication.
•    Communicate accurate timelines and schedules to Project Engineers and the Engineering Manager while managing multiple design and drafting tasks.
•    Visit vendor and fabricator facilities or travel to customer sites when necessary.


QUALIFICATIONS

•    Mechanical Engineering/Technologist Degree/Diploma from an Accredited Institution (Canadian Accredited)
•    Eligible to work in Canada.
•    Ability to travel to US and Internationally without restrictions.


EXPERIENCE/SKILLS  

•    Design & Drafting Proficiency: Expertise in 3D CAD tools such as AutoCAD Inventor is crucial for creating accurate layouts and designs.
•    Knowledge of Piping Materials & Standards: Familiarity with materials and industry standards like ASME, API, and ANSI ensures that designs meet safety and

      quality requirements.
•    Collaboration: Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, with a focus on collaboration and relationship-building.
•    Technical Aptitude: Ability to review and understand technical specifications as it relates to mechanical, process, design.
•    Problem-Solving Skills: Critical thinking and troubleshooting abilities are necessary for identifying and resolving design challenges.
•    Software Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
